Orders

I didn't receive my order confirmation email?
A confirmation email will be emailed to you shortly after placing your order. Be sure to check your spam folder. If you cannot locate your order confirmation simply email hello{@}linensocial.com.au and we will resend it.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major payment methods including Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Paypal, AfterPay, Zip Pay and Klarna.

The item I want is out of stock. What do I do?
For all pre-sale information on out-of-stock items, including the estimated date of arrival, please refer to the product page for the specific out-of-stock product. Pre-ordering ensures that you won’t miss out on the next shipment, particularly for our popular linen styles that tend to sell out quickly. All pre-orders are paid in full and delivery is arranged by our team once our stock shipment has been received. If an order contains pre-order item(s) as well as in-stock item(s), then the entire order will be shipped upon arrival of the pre-order item. If you wish for the pre-order item(s) and available item(s) to be shipped separately please email hello{@}linensocial.com.au. Please note that separate shipment is at the expense of the customer.

Does my order include tax?
Australian customers will have the standard 10% GST included in their order. International customers' orders are GST-free. Please note that your local customs office may charge duties & taxes for products ordered outside of your country or region. Please check with your local customs office prior to placing your order to avoid unwanted extra charges.

When will my order arrive?
Orders within Australia are shipped via Australia Post and arrival time will depend on where you are in Australia. For metro areas, standard delivery can be expected within 2 - 5 business days and express delivery can be expected within 1 business day. If you need your order sooner, we recommend opting for DHL Express at checkout. For more information visit our shipping page here.

Orders to New Zealand are shipped via Australia Post Express. Delivery can be expected within 4 - 8 business days. DHL Express is also available for New Zealand orders and depending on your location, should arrive between 2 - 3 business days.  

We ship via FedEx for all international orders (except New Zealand) and depending on your location, delivery can be expected within 3 - 5 business days. Australia Post Express is available for select items and depending on your location, delivery can be expected within 6 - 9 business days.

My order hasn't arrived?
Don't stress, very few orders get lost and we have everything tracked! In fact, you will receive an email with your tracking number soon after placing an order. Use the tracking code to see where it's at, and if you have any questions feel free to contact us.

My order has been Returned to Sender. What do I do?
If your order has been Returned to Sender due to an incorrect shipping address or failure to collect the package from a local Australia Post office, reshipment is at the expense of the customer. We will contact you once we receive the return to coordinate reshipment of your order.

I just placed an order and my shipping address is incorrect. How do I update this?
If you notice that your shipping address is incorrect please contact us as soon as possible to update the address. Unfortunately, if we are not notified prior to 12.00pm your order may have already been dispatched. In this case, we will need to wait for the item to be returned to us and we can then reship it to the correct address. The cost for reshipment of the order is at the expense of the customer.

I just placed an order and want to cancel it. How do I do this?
If you no longer wish to proceed with your order please contact us as soon as possible and we will cancel the order for you providing that it has not already been dispatched. If the order has been dispatched you are welcome to return it once it arrives. Simply visit our Returns Portal here. Return shipping costs will apply.

Returns

I would like to return a product. How do I do this?
All returns are processed via our Returns Portal here. Please refer to our Returns Policy here to find out whether your return qualifies for an exchange, credit note or refund.

My product is faulty. How do I return it?
Linen Social is passionate about offering quality products - we want you to love your linen as much as we do! In the unlikely event that your product arrives faulty or damaged, we will happily honour a replacement or full refund providing that the item is returned within 7 days of receipt of goods. If a product displays a manufacturing fault within 3 months of receipt of goods we will happily honour a replacement. Please note that items that have been damaged as a result of incorrect garment care or general wear are not considered faulty.

Care Guide

How do I wash my linen?
We recommend washing your linen separately using lukewarm water (<40 degrees) and either a gentle hand wash or machine wash on a delicate cycle, using a mild detergent (such as Softly Delicates) that contains no bleach or optical brighteners. Fabric softener is not necessary or required when washing linen. Linen will naturally soften with each wash. If you choose to hand wash your linen only leave to soak for a maximum of 10 minutes.

What's the best way to dry my linen?
We recommend laying your linen flat to air-dry in the shade and out of direct sunlight. We advise against drying your linen in a tumble dryer. If you do need to use a tumble dryer, do so on low heat only and ensure that your linen is removed whilst still slightly damp and lay flat to finish drying. Over drying your linen in a tumble dryer may cause the linen to become brittle and bleached.

Do

  • Use bleach or detergent with optical brighteners.
  • Use fabric softener.
  • Wash your linen at high temperatures as this can cause shrinkage and weaken the natural fibres.
  • Dry in direct sunlight as this damages the fibres.
  • Dry your linen completely in the dryer as this damages the fibres.
  • Store your linen in direct sunlight, as this can cause discolouration.

Should I wash my linen before I use it?
Absolutely! This is something we highly recommend before the first use of all our linen products.

What is the thread count of Linen Social linen?
Linen is measured in weight rather than thread count. We found the perfect weight to be 165 - 170gsm.

What products should I use to wash my linen?
A mild detergent (such as Softly Delicates) that contains no bleach or optical brighteners.

Should I use fabric softener?
Linen will naturally soften with each wash and so the use of a fabric softener is not necessary or required when washing linen.

Can I tumble dry my linen?
We advise against drying your linen in a tumble dryer. If you do need to use a tumble dryer, do so on low heat only and ensure that your linen is removed whilst still slightly damp and lay flat to finish drying. Over drying your linen in a tumble dryer may cause the linen to become brittle and bleached.

Can I iron my linen?
The natural creases in linen are all part of its beauty, so it is not necessary to iron your linen. If you do choose to iron, do so on high heat/high steam setting whilst the linen is still damp and using smooth, long strokes.

I washed my linen and it is no longer soft. What do I do?
Please be sure to use a mild detergent when washing your linen, as well as air-drying your linen flat in the shade as drying in the sun damages the fibres. You may choose to simply wash your linen again following the above instructions to restore its soft and luxurious feel.

How do I store my linen?
To prevent mildew, ensure your linens are completely dry before storing. Linen is created using natural fibres that need to breathe and are best kept in cool, dry areas with appropriate ventilation. Avoid storing your linen in direct sunlight, as this can cause discolouration.

Our linen is grown and produced in France directly from the flax plant, giving it a high-quality and luxurious natural finish. European flax is widely regarded as the premium fibre for natural linens, and we’ve spent many years testing fabrics and building relationships with trusted suppliers to provide the best possible products. All of our linen products are designed with love by Linen Social in Northern NSW Australia and are pre-washed after manufacturing for a soft, textural look.

Is linen eco-friendly?
Yes! Natural French linen is produced without the use of any pesticides and is 100% recyclable and biodegradable - just one of the many reasons we’re so passionate about our products. It also requires less resources to produce, making it a more sustainable fabric.
